作者の Graeme Hall についての詳細は不明ですが、恐らく1972年の Eurovision Song Contest のイギリス代表である The New Seekers の "Beg, Steal or Borrow" の作者の一人と同一人物だと思います。
ちなみに The New Seekers を結成した Keith Potger は "LONG LIVE LOVE" の "Angel Eyes" の作者の一人です。
また The New Seekers は Cliff Richard の TV 番組に出演していましたし、The Shadows の70年代のベーシスト Alan Tarney はオリビアやクリフや The New Seekers のアルバムに参加したりと皆結びついているのが興味深いです。

この "And In The Morning" を聴くといつも曇った早朝の港の波止場で恋人が別れる情景が何故か思い浮かびます。
情感たっぷりのオリビアのボーカル、神経質なハイハットを聴かせるドラムス、エンディングの素晴らしいギター、全てが繊細で抑制されており、都会での大人の恋愛って感じがします。
