■Olivia Newton John (1971) + Singles

As to this, from the first time I love very much.
After all the beginning part is the best!
This song has a sense of expectation something good is to happen.
Strings are extremely beautiful.

I firstly heard this song from my favorite double album "Crystal Lady".
Recently I noticed that the Crystal Lady Edition is monaural but "48 Original Tracks" Edition is stereo.
Singing like fresh fruit can be heard.

During several years after I've firstly listened to this song, it didn't strike my heart.
On my way job I often listen to Livvy's first album with my portable DAT, after hundreds of times of listening it became my very favorite song.
I especially love that part which says "Down beside where the waters flow".
Clear and dry sounds of acoustic guitar is nice and the slow rhythm makes me comfortable.

I don't know what to express about this mysterious song.
Impressive is the acoustic guitar arpeggio and deep echoed instrument on the left channel. (Electric piano ?)
Listening to this song every time I feel something special, a kind of inexpressible air, perhaps due to the incredible loveliness of Livvy of those days and the incredible mysteriousness of the composition itself.
Concerning this song analogue LP version is much better than CD.
Each instrument sounds like something that comes from another planet.
This is the strange song that always makes me touched whenever I listen to.

Originally released from the famous The Band "Music From Big Pink".
I love the bass part which I always remember.
There is some kind of nostalgia in this song.
Very beautiful acoustic guitar and strings with reverb.
I sense the similar smell to "In A Station".

■Olivia (1972)

Very pretty song. I especially love the last key-changing part.
Guitars, harmony vocals, everything is beautiful.
A very poisonless, peaceful sound I hear.
Who is Steve Cagan that made such a beautiful song ?
Keyboards moving left and right, impressive bass, restrained echoed guitar, perfect vocals, everything is cool.
I feel like melting into the song.

■Music Makes My Day (1974)

Undoubtedly one of Livvy's best songs!
It has something that moves me, perhaps because of the composition itself...
I believe this song should be valued higher than it is.
Truly a great song.
Beautiful & dramatic melody! Ah, I lose my mind...
I love the part 'Cause you're leaving...' and 'la la la la la...'

■Long Live Love (1974)

I love the contrast between the quiet part and the disturbance.
Yeah, it's a great song!
It's a quiet and plain song but very beautiful ballads.
It has a very beautiful aspect that most early 70's songs have.
Originally released from the famous Beach Boys "Pet Sounds".
Japanese LP has a non Hi-Fi sound concerning this song.
On the contrary it has an incredible chorus, miraculous chord processing.

■Have You Never Been Mellow (1975)

In principle I don't like a popular big hit number and this HYNBM is one of the exceptions.
It has a mood and air that everyone begins to love.

■Clearly Love (1975)

Slow Down Jackson
Jazzy song with a piano introduction.
It makes me feel much about Autumn.
In Japan there are many who love this remarkable song.
Let It Shine
Whenever I listen to this song, it makes me hot, gives me a power.

■Don't Stop Believin' (1976)

Don't Stop Believin'
Although it couldn't has a big commercial success, it is very popular in Japan.
The composition is very good, her vocal is very good.
Sam
It's an incredible dramatic song.
I wonder why this song didn't reach to No.1.
It is also very much loved in Japan.

■Making A Good Thing Better (1977)

You Won't See Me Cry
I especially love the chorus part of this song.
This song seems to be neglected, but I hope they'll find it to be a marvelous song.

■Totally Hot (1978)

Dancin' 'Round And 'Round
It's my all-time favorite.
A womanly soft sound makes me comfortable.
Borrowed Time
It's a Livvy's composition, like 'Changes', 'Don't Ask A Friend', etc.
It has a friendly melody and I love it.

■Grease (1978)

Hopelessly Devoted To You
It's a famous big hit number.
John Farrar knocks us down!
It has also the beautiful bass melody.

■Xanadu (1980)

Suddenly
Everyone can feel the genius talent of John Farrar from this song.

■Physical (1981)

Recovery
To John Farrar: Would you kindly tell me how you made this guitar sound?
(For I also love playing the guitar.)
Among the "Physical" songs I love this best!
Very sweet melody and vocal chorus.
